We have three singing teachers working at the NMC, offering tuition in a wide range of styles and genres.

    Jenny began singing at the age of 13 in small music groups and school performances. After studying music at Newcastle College she sang in various bands in North East England and on cruise ships around the world – she has recently returned from a two-month cruise in the Caribbean. As well as her busy teaching schedule at the NMC and in local schools Jenny sings with local bands, specialising in function work.

    Richard began singing at an early age with his local church choir and went on to sing with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain. He then completed a BA (Hons) in Communication Arts specialising in music at York St. John College, followed by a masters degree in vocal performance at The University of Newcastle. As well as the NMC, Richard teaches in schools and colleges and works as a freelance vocal coach and musical director with theatre groups and choirs. He also works with several bands and ensembles as a vocalist, guitarist, bassist and pianist. He has experience of successfully preparing students for ABRSM and LCM exams and diplomas in classical singing, pop vocals and musical theatre. Past students have gone on to perform professionally and gain places at some of the countries leading theatre schools and universities.

    After beginning singing lessons to gain confidence at a young age, Georgia began pursuing music through Musical Theatre productions to develop her experience and knowledge, then studying at Yamaha Music before eventually gaining a BA (Hons) in Music and Sound at the University of West London in 2020.

    Georgia has been singing professionally from age 15, originally in North East venues and latterly working as a vocalist for private events, Haven, Butlins and international residencies, recently returning from a contract in Eilat, Israel. In 2019, Georgia released her first original song “Focus”, taking inspiration from vocalists such as Amy Winehouse, Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga, receiving airplay on BBC Radio.

    Teaching privately since 2018, Georgia also teaches at Rock School and Pizazz Performing Arts and to foundation degree students at the Academy of Music and Sound, Gateshead.

    Coming from a creative family in Lithuania Julija started performing at the age of four, singing in TV and live music events and hosting a TV show for children on national television (LRT). After followed ten years of classical piano studies at the national M.K. Čiurlionis School of Art in Vilnius, masterclasses, competitions and earning diplomas in Lithuania, Czech Republic, Estonia, and France. Julija continued her piano and vocals studies at Vilnius Conservatory, jazz singing at Vilnius College, and Music Education at Vilnius University of Educational Sciences. Julija’s singing performances were noticed and awarded in various international competitions, such as ‘Sony Jazz Stage’ and ‘Jazz Voices’. With her ‘Julia Jazz Trio’ she was chosen to be a support act for Joe Zawinul‘s and Kurt Elling‘s concerts in Vilnius. In 2006 Julija’s weekly TV1 show ‘That Jazzy World’ won an award as the best informational programme of culture and education. Teaching since the age of seventeen Julija ran a private vocal studio up to 2011 when she moved to the UK. Since then, she has hosted vocal workshops, performed in jam sessions, music festivals and events, released an album of her own compositions, ‘Moon moods’, and continues to collaborate with many great musicians from all over the world. Julija is dedicated to teaching and loves sharing from her extensive knowledge and experience.
